It was only a matter of time. Drones have shot into the mainstream in the past couple of years with companies like DJI and HEXO+ already strapping GoPros onto their tiny wings. Many argue there’s no better lightweight action sports camera.

It comes as no surprise that GoPro are planning to launch their own consumer drone late next year, according to the Wall Street Journal.

“They are said to be pricing them between US $500-1000”

The most surprising thing of all? They’re not due to be crazy expensive. GoPro are said to be pricing the drones between US $500-1000 (£320-650 approx.) To put this into perspective, most drones are in the £700+ range.

Drones have undergone some massive transformations over the past few years with giant unwieldy expensive devices being slimmed down into the light compact forms you see today. We can bet that GoPro will put a lot of time into making their drone a piece of perfection.

Just to get you stoked, here’s an example of what you can do with one of these babies…
