Meet Lily. She’s a flying drone camera that you can, quite literally, throw away. Not because she’s rubbish, you understand, but because she can fly all by herself. After watching the video of Lily in action, see above, we’ve decided the only thing we want do with our lives is spend some quality time with her (no, not in a saucy way).
The great thing about Lily, as far as we’re concerned, is that she will offer a cool new perspective on people doing action and adventure stuff. In a nutshell, Lily will shoot the shit from a third-person POV, rather than the first-person POV offered by GoPro.
Whether you’re into skiing, snowboarding, skateboarding, hiking, kayaking or surfing; Lily will be able to capture you doing your thing in glorious high-definition. She’s waterproof, she flies by herself, and her camera can shoot at 120 frames-per-second if you want to see yourself in slow motion (à la Baywatch).
“We want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one…”
In exchange for $499 (£319), you can pre-order yours now. After the pre-sale period, which ends on June 15th 2015, the price will rise to $999 (£638). Unfortunately, for those of you itching to get your hands on Lily immediately, the product won’t be shipping until February 2016.
As the makers are keen to point out on their website, no setup is required. All you need to do is put the tracker in your pocket, throw Lily into the air, and “Go!”
We want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, want one, we want one, we want one, we want one, we want one!
