BASE jumping is a truly epic sport, but sometimes it can go wrong.

Big wave surfer and BASE jumping fiend Brandon Lillard suffered a serious accident while BASE jumping in Utah with Travis Pastrana last Friday.

Now Pastrana has launched a campaign to help raise money for Lillard after his family discovered that his insurance doesn’t cover “parachute activities“. Lillard and his family are now facing an overwhelmingly large hospital bill, Pastrana reported on his Facebook Page.

Pastrana is offering to pick one person who donates to the Let’s Help Lillard fundraising campaign, fly them out to Maryland to ride for a day in his epic backyard set up at his home, Pastranaland.

Lillard reportedly hit a cliff wall after struggling with his parachute, it collapsed and sent him slamming down the face of the mountain. He was taken to Utah Valley Regional Hospital in a critical condition.

He suffered major head trauma and broken bones, but is reportedly now stable in hospital in his home state of California..

In just two days, the Let’s Help Lillard fundraising campaign has raised over $55,000.
