Protect the extremities
We lose most of our body heat through our heads and our hands, so it’s essential to protect the most vulnerable body parts when tackling a really cold run.
You don’t have to jog out of the front wrapped up like you’re about to tackle an Arctic expedition but a good, compressible hat that can be shoved in pockets when it gets too warm and a pair of lightweight gloves will make life on the trails less painful. Special running socks that are thin, breathable and warm when wet can be also be found at most good running outlets.
