Freezing temperatures can easily disguise how much your body is actually sweating and the cold can make you physically feel less thirsty, so it’s important to be extra vigilant when it comes to topping the body up with water supplies.
It might sound grim but the National Hydration Council (yes, it is such a thing) says the best way to monitor hydration is to check your pee. “It should be pale straw colour, anything darker and more fluid is needed,” say the official guidelines.
