Whether you love skiing or hate skiing, the one thing about skiing that everyone can agree on is that ski boots suck. They suck so bad. Uncomfortable, difficult to walk in; ski boots are a lesser known method of medieval torture. Even a pair of well fitted ones can get tiresome after a day on the slopes. Thankfully however, for anyone with even a smidgeon of respect for human feet, there now seems to be a solution.
Mad Jack, another one of those Kickstarter project things, have gone and made an adaptor that allows people to go skiing in snowboard boots. Why? Because snowboard boots are so much nicer to be in all day. They’re a hug in a mug, a cuddle for your feet, an item of footwear that doesn’t give the impression it’s trying to squeeze life itself from anything below your knee.
Their pitch goes like this: “The affordable and simple system that lets you wear comfortable snowboard boots while skiing. No more boot bang and bruised shins. No more bulky, heavy boots that are difficult to walk. No more reasons to stay off the mountain. Be happy on the hill again.”
“MadJacks was designed as a comfortable alternative to the traditional, uncomfortable and stiff, alpine ski boots. MadJacks is adaptable to all ski bindings on the market and, together with a snowboard boot, costs on average a third less than the average ski boots.”
