It’s amazing how far a smile can get you. Maybe the dude with the expensive-but-shit Star Wars tattoos in the coffee place will give you that extra shot free of charge, or the shop monkey in your local board store will knock off the price of edging your snowboard when you take it in for a wax if you flash them your gums.
Or, if you’re Russian daredevil and BASE Jump supremo Otmashka Dubinina, it can get you out of a spot of bother with the Chinese Police. Dressed in a not-so-subtle fluorescent clown suit, Dubinina took to an unnamed bridge in China for more than a spot of sightseeing.
However, the local Five-O – who, let’s be honest, aren’t famous for their tolerance and understanding – suspected something was amiss when they spotted our heroine with a parachute on her back and a GoPro strapped to her canister.
Despite the fuzz restraining her, Dubinina continued in her quest to leap off the picturesque span. At one point, while being questioned by the police, she insisted that she was merely there to admire the view but that her height was preventing her from doing so.
“I can’t see from here. I’m too short. I need to climb higher.”
After some explaining (and for “explaining” read “blagging like her liberty depended upon it”) and a few innocent smiles, the local authorities appeared to leave Otmashka Dubinina to her own devices. If you’re reading fellas – and we know you’re big fans of Mpora – that’s when you fucked up.
