Torah Bright has made history in qualifyign for all three Olympics snowboarding disciplines at the Winter Olympics next month. It’s an unequalled achievement for Bright, who’ll be representing Australian, and she’ll be chasing gold in snowboard cross, new addition slopestyle, as well as trying to defend her title in the halfpipe event.
The Australian has pedigree in the Olympics having taken gold in the halfpipe in Vancouver four years ago. Bright has also won two golds and two silvers in the event at the Winter X-Games but she’ll be facing tough competition from the likes of Kelly Clark, so winning at consecutive Olympics will be a real challenge.
“A year ago I started this journey, daring myself to qualify for three snowboard events in the Olympics,” said Bright. “This is an Olympic journey done my way.” This feat was sealed over the weekend she completed qualification for the snowboard cross – an event she has never competed in before.
