How I Took The Most Famous Photo in Snowboarding

Meet the man who sent shockwaves through snowboarding with one simple shot

Swedish snowboard photographer Calle Eriksson played a huge role in the development of the sport.

In the 90s he was photo editor of our sister title Onboard, and later moved across to rival magazine Method.

But the moment he’s most famous for is capturing this shot of Ingemar Backman’s record-breaking method in the Riksgransen quarterpipe.

It was so far ahead of what anyone else had achieved in terms of height that many thought it was a fake.
