Whether you wear one or not, it’s fair to say that helmets are a widely accepted part of snowboarding life these days. Snowboarders, skiers, youngsters, oldsters, mid-lifers; protecting your head with a lid is just common practice right across the mountain sport spectrum in modern times.

But with so many people wearing helmets, the chances of having the same helmet as someone else in the chairlift queue increases significantly. And that, as you’ll well know, is a style catastrophe that will leave you wiping egg off your face for decades to come. One way to avoid this fashion faux-pas, and we’ll admit it’s a pretty drastic solution, is by wearing one of the seriously weird helmets below. They’re wacky as hell, but at least when you wear one you’ll stick out like the world’s sorest thumb (for better, or worse).
