Xavier de le Rue has done a lot of things over the course of his lengthy career.
He’s been a boardercross champion, won the Freeride World Tour multiple times, the Verbier Xtreme even more times, made multiple award-winning video parts and of course graced snowboard magazine covers across the globe.
In fact, he’s achieved so much that the only real problem facing him these days is how to top all of that. Except that by the looks of the trailer above, the Frenchman appears to have done it once again with his latest project.
The resulting movie looks like a mixture between snowboarding, climbing and arctic exploration…
Xavier paired up with freeskier and fellow big mountain expert Sami Anthamatten to tackle possibly his biggest challenge to date – riding lines in the untouched northern area of Svalbard, a Norwegian archipelago at 79 degrees latitude – far, far north of the Arctic Circle.
The resulting movie – seemingly a mixture of snowboarding, climbing and arctic exploration – looks like it’s going to be insane.
Keep your eyes peeled for the full film, dropping in autumn of this year.
