Rosy Hodge is one of the few pro surfers to hail from East London. East London, South Africa that is – Whitechapel hasn’t seen a good swell in decades. She’s now one of the best surfers to come from the Cape along with her compatriot, Bianca Buitendag.

Hodge grew up with a wave at the bottom of her garden at Queensbury Point and spend hours studying and mastering it. She also came close to death there when she and Greg Emslie found themselves being circled by a three-meter great white shark – luckily they both escaped unharmed.

When she’s not ripping right handers Rosy can be heard commentating on ASP Webcasts and seen in numerous modelling shoots around the globe.
