Snakes On A Plane Gets Way Too Real In Frightening Aeromexico Flight Footage

Unfortunately for the passengers, Samuel L. Jackson wasn't even there to help.

“I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane.” Not the words of Abe Lincoln,  nor Winston Churchill, Oscar Wilde, or F. Scott Fitzgerald. No. These simple words, ordered in such a way that they form literally the greatest sentence ever spoken by anyone anywhere, were in fact uttered out loud by Samuel L. Jackson’s character in the cult 2006 movie Snakes On A Plane.

Now, if you’ve never seen Snakes On A Plane. The plot is fairly simple. Basically, it’s about snakes…on a plane. It’s not a story of will they-won’t they romance, a story of against all the odds redemption, or a story about a boy wizard and his mishaps at magic school. It’s about snakes…on a plane, and Samuel L. Jackson’s bid to resolve said situation. It’s an entertaining fiction, a plot so ludicrous that you just know it would never happen in real life. Or so we thought. Until seeing this video.

For passengers on an Aeromexico flight between Torreon and Mexico City, at the weekend, the ‘Snakes on a Plane’ scenario went from straight-up fiction to terrifying reality in a matter of seconds when a snake slithered its way out of an overhead luggage compartment mid journey.

Indalecio Medina, an onboard passenger, captured footage of the metre-long reptile as it dropped down into the cabin. The footage was then uploaded to social media, before taking the internet by storm.

Medina revealed that, rather surprisingly considering the situation, the passengers remained calm during the ordeal; unbuckling themselves from their seats, and moving away from the snake.

The plane was given landing priority after the pilot contacted air traffic control, touching down in Mexico City about 10 minutes later. Passengers exited from the back of the plane, as animal control workers went about removing the serpent. It has not yet been firmly established what type of snake it was, or whether it was venomous. Aeromexico, as you’d imagine they might be, are currently investigating the incident in a bid to understand how the snake got on the plane.
