It’s a bit of a trek, yes, but the scenery you’ll get on your way to Machu Picchu will be some of the most memorable you’ll see in your life. One thing better, of course, is the amazing 15th century Inca settlement that has amazed so many travellers over the years.
Sitting 2,430 metres above sea level, Machu Picchu is located above a sacred valley, and was built in honour of Inca emperor Pachacuti, who lived from 1438-1472. It’s the most iconic remnants of the Inca culture, and it’s one of the most breathtaking sights you can ever lay eyes on.
