We Raced Against A Bunch Of Men In A Tin Bath Tub… And It All Went Horribly Wrong.

Eccentric Adventures Ep. 1: Is the tin bath tub racing world championships Britain's wackiest race?

A few weeks ago we sent adventurer extraordinaire and all round funny bastard Fathead to the Isle of Man to compete in the Tin Bath Racing World Championships.

What happened there was hilarious…

Eccentric Adventures Episode 1: Everything You Never Needed to Know About the Tin Bath Racing World Championships

What is it? Well, it does exactly what it says on the tin (pun intended).

Where is it? Castletown on the Isle of Man, where it’s been held since 1971.

Who enters? A rag tag collection of local characters and fancy dress enthusiasts, including a wealthy American who calls himself “The King of Man” claiming his ancestry gives him sovereignty over the island. Needless to say the locals disagree with him…

Oh and a few ex-pro canoeists who are in it to win it.

Can I enter? Yes. The event is organised by the Castletown Ale Drinker’s Society, who give all the money raised to local charities. Once registration’s open for the 2016 event, you can register via their website here.

How did Fathead do? Well, all things considered. OK so he sunk in the final, but at least he made the final eh? And how about that trophy!

Keep your eyes peeled for the next episode of Eccentric Adventures dropping on Friday 26th June.

Directed, produced and edited by Ruskin Kyle, with additional filming by Olly Nice
