This Artist Is Taking Away Toy Soldier’s Guns And Making Them Practice Yoga

Dan Abrasion's army figures 'Keep The Inner Peace'

We’re used to seeing little green army men with guns, in hunched shooting and stealth tracking positions.

Whatever your opinion on little green soldiers, since Toy Story there’s not a single person in America or the UK that doesn’t recognise the toy.

But what if you gave children toys that were less interested in war and more on being a little bit mindful and chilled?

Artist Dan Abrasion decided to make his own version of army figurines, by taking them totally out of their war torn context.

What’s the farthest you can get from war? Yoga.

Yoga is a pretty chill past time.

Through his figurines, Abrasion aims to take the little green men out of their aggressive setting and humanise them by making them do something they’d never have the chance to do at war, giving a feeling of serenity and peace.

“I made Yoga Joes because I thought that it would be a fun way to get more people into yoga” he says.

“Especially dudes… beyond that, I wanted to make a violent toy become peaceful,”

We love the idea of getting boys to embrace ideas of peacefulness and calm through getting their recognised playmates to embrace them first.

Maybe if we could get all the Action Men companies and G.I. Joes in a downward dog, we could change the thinking of a lot of children!
