If the wildlife of this world ever decides to form an Editors tribute band, they should definitely think about hiring Marianna Katsaouni to take the promotional photographs. There’s just something about her beautiful animal silhouettes, shot in black and white, that remind us of Stafford’s most famous indie-rock goths.

Seriously if these moody images were any more atmospheric than they already are, they’d be a gaseous envelope surrounding the earth. We can’t stress enough how much we like them. Just know, that we really, really, like them. The owl one, for some reason that we can’t quite put a finger on, is a particular favourite of ours.
“Enjoy their spookiness. Enjoy their mysteriousness.”
The photographs were taken against sunlight, and presumably involved some clever camera techniques and setting adjustments. However Marianna did them, we think her ingenious use of shadows and the animals’ outlines deserve a huge round of applause.
We’ve posted a collection of the photos below, so that you can browse through them at your own convenience. Enjoy their spookiness. Enjoy their mysteriousness. Enjoy their ‘spoomsteriousness’. Whatever, just check ’em out.
