8 of the Best NutriBullet Recipes

We've picked 8 of the best Nutribullet recipes to help you blend your way to a fitter healthier you.

The best Nutribullet recipes

Did you get a NutriBullet this Christmas, then leave it gathering dust on the shelf? Well, go and fetch it down. It’s time to actually use that bad boy like you envisioned you would with our guide to the best nutribullet recipes.

Smoothies make great pre-run, cycle or workout fuel (especially if you struggle with breakfast); they work as post-exercise recovery drinks; and they can be perfect ways to boost your energy when mid-afternoon cravings gnaw at your tummy as well.

There are hundreds of recipes around, most of which can be tailored to meet the ingredients you happen to have available, too.

We’ve pulled together some of the most nutritious recipes for NutriBullets (although, to be honest, you can probably use any half-decent blender…).

The Best Nutribullet Recipes

Nutribullet Recipe – Instant NRG

Have you got an energetic run, ride or workout planned after work? Or perhaps you’ve already got your exercise in, and now you’re finding it hard to stay alert at your desk? This tasty jolt will certainly help pep you back up.

Cacao – chocolate in its purest form – is a great energy-booster, plus it contains antioxidants, helps balance your blood sugar, and is rich iron and in magnesium. This is mixed with coffee for the ultimate “wahey!” boost.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup raspberries
  • 1 tablespoon cacao
  • 1 handful hazelnuts
  • ¼ cup coffee
  • Fill the remainder with almond milk

Nutribullet Recipe – Beet The Competition

As bests go, the beetroot tops the charts which is why this is one of the best nutribullet recipes. Add all the solid ingredients, pour the liquids in until you reach the max line, then blend until smooth. Enjoy!

Love it or hate it, beetroot contains a high concentration of nitrates, which keep your blood-flow ticking over, and studies have shown it can even reduce the amount of oxygen needed to sustain intense exercise.

This means your efficiency and tolerance is increased, as is endurance. Tangy as it may be, beetroot is your friend.

This recipe uses beetroot, plus energy-providing bananas and the NutriBullet SuperBoost, which contains cacao, chia, maca and goji – although you can skip this if it’s not in your cupboard.

Ingredients

  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 handful mixed berries
  • 1 chunk beetroot
  • 1 tablespoon SuperFood SuperBoost
  • ½  banana
  • Fill the blender cup to the max with coconut water

Mix these up in your blender until smooth – and drink it down before your next training session.

Nutribullet Recipe – Inflamation Fighter

Tough exercise can cause muscle damage and inflammation – a sign that you’ve worked hard and a cool ‘battle scar’, but not one that you want to hang around!

The ingredients in this smoothie – specifically the leafy green kale, walnuts and spicy tumeric – are great for helping to calm down inflammation, making this a soothing treat for overdriven muscles.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup kale
  • ½ cup frozen blueberries
  • ½ cup frozen cherries
  • 1 tablespoon flax seeds
  • 10 walnut halves
  • 1 chunk turmeric
  • Fill the blender to the max with coconut water

Whizz up these ingredients for 35 seconds, or until smooth, and enjoy!

Nutribullet Recipe – Post Workout Blast

After a good workout you need protein – to help restore your muscles – carbohydrates – to replace used-up glycogen stores – and electrolytes – which will have been lost though sweating.

This smoothie contains all of those goodies – and the banana-and-honey mix, with creamy yoghurt to top it off, is pretty appetising, too!

Add the solids and fill your cup with coconut water before blending until smooth.

Ingredients

  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter
  • 2 tablespoons greek yoghurt
  • 1 dash honey
  • Fill the blender cup to the max with coconut water

Nutribullet Receipe – Summer Hydration Blast

The Sun is out, and while that’s obviously great news for everyone but the most unyieldingly grumpy, the added heat means you’ll be sweating much, much more during exercise.

This fruity smoothie is designed to be consumed after exercise, and will help replace glycogen stores with a (naturally) sugary selection of treats, as well as lost salts.

Add all the ingredients into a blender, fill to the top with water, and go!

Ingredients:

  • 1 small apple
  • ½ cup papayas
  • 4 large strawberries
  • 1 kiwi
  • ½ lemon
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ cup ice cubes
  • Water

Straw Banana Fueller

If you’re looking for a filling concoction that you can use to fuel exercise, then a smoothie featuring oats – which are complex carbohydrates – will do the trick, making this one of the best nutribullet recipes for those working out.

You can leave the oats raw, or cook them before adding, which will give you a thicker consistency.

This mix uses the NutriBullet SuperFood SuperGreens to boost your immune system, but it’s not a necessity. The cinnamon is a known anti-inflammatory and is rich in antioxidants – plus, it tastes gorge.

Just mix these up, blend, and enjoy…

Ingredients

  • 1 handful spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup oats
  • 1 tablespoon SuperFood SuperGreens
  • 1 dash ceylon cinnamon
  • Fill the blender cup to the max with almond milk

Nutribullet Recipe – Protein Packed Fitness Blast

There are plenty of naturally protein packed foods out there, but sometimes, when you’re in a hurry, a dose of protein powder in a recipe is a great option.

This mixture has plenty of fuelling carbs to pack in before your workout, while the protein powder and almonds will mean that your muscles will be ready to start repairing before you’ve even finished…

Ingredients:

  • 2 handfuls spinach
  • 1 banana
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 4 tablespoons protein powder
  • 1 handful ice cubes
  • Fill the blender cup to the max with almond milk

Nutribullet Recipe – Good Fats a Go Go

Back in the ’90s, a lot of people got put off fat – but we now know that fat isn’t the root of all evil, and some fats can be good for you!

In fact, eating more fat from sources such as seeds, avocados and oil can encourage your body to burn more fat – particularly during exercise.

This smoothie is one of the best nutribullet recipes and is full of the good fats you need, and makes for a perfect morning kick-starter.

Mix these up in your blender until smooth:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups spinach
  • 1 small Persian cucumber
  • 1 leaf basil
  • 1 tablespoon hemp seeds
  • 1 tablespoon sunflower seeds
  • 2 teaspoons chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon coconut butter or coconut oil
  • ¼  avocado
  • ½ frozen banana
  • 3 medium frozen strawberries
  • ⅓ cup frozen pineapple
  • 1½ cups coconut water
