There are some fairly essential things in life that could do with a good rethink.
Toasters, for example, are currently sold with a setting that will effectively incinerate your toast, and surely there’s a way to make scissors so they aren’t hand specific?
The wheel, however, has faired pretty well for the past few thousand years. It’s progressed through the ages, and we reckon it’s in a pretty good place right now.
YouTube user colinfurze, however, does not agree. The crazy inventor decided he would make a bike that replaces tyres with ice, then take it out on the roads, hills and glaciers to see how it held up.
Fair play to Colin, he seems to have his craftsmanship down when it comes to ice wheel building – that most noble of professions – but unfortunately the bike didn’t fair so well in the end.
Anyway, have a watch and let us know what you think. The attempt to travel uphill on the ice bike is particularly hilarious.
