Some weeks ago, while Mpora were hanging out by the Undercroft in London like the action sports tarts we are, a young chap came over and started asking questions about our trainers.
After the initial fear of some sort of public mugging scam had subsided, the conversation was a pleasant-if-nerdy one about the history of Nike SB trainers, and the skatability of assorted footwear.
At no point were flip-flops even considered as appropriate foot-furniture for skating. Skater Tommy Chill (great name – up there with Chris Vile), however, didn’t get the memo.
In this rather stylish looking skate edit, he takes to the streets of new York in what we’re calling flip-flops, they’re calling Sandals, and the cool guy in the office two desks away insists are called sliders.
Flip-flops it is, then.
