Sage Erickson grew up within sight of the Oahu breaks so it was only natural that she ended up riding them. The journey has not always been easy for Erickson, who now lives in California, but she’s growing stronger and stronger as a surfer every time she enters the water.

2012 was her first year on the tour and proof that just because you’re lauded by commentators and prized by sponsors that results don’t just fall into your lap. Despite not doing as well as she might have liked initially though, Sage has stuck doing the sport she loves and is finally being rewarded.

She’s still in her early 20s and has the raw talent to become a staple of the women’s tour for years to come.
