Faction launched their ‘La Machine’ range for the 22/23 season. This range shuns the use of camber in favour of deep rocker lines and a manoeuvrable shape to create a freeride ski that thrives in soft snow conditions. These, the La Machine 2 Mini, are the narrowest skis in the series. They’re an extremely fun touring ski that can take on everything from sun-baked mash, to fresh couloirs.
Faction La Machine 2 Mini Construction
The wood core is made up of a sustainably sourced poplar and beech. This sustainable approach is thanks to the fact that Faction sources have looked to source this wood near their European factories, getting rid of the cost (in carbon) of transporting raw materials around the world. These cores are all, also, FSC accredited, meaning that the forests where the core material comes from are all managed in a sustainable way.

A carbon fibre laminate sits above this sustainable core. And, while carbon isn’t the most friendly to the planet material out there, Faction have called in the use of a bio-based resin that has 35% of its molecular range derived from plant material, to help create this carbon layup.
