This is pretty much every skiier and snowboarder’s nightmare. You’re sitting on a chairlift one minute, the next you’re crashing towards to earth.
That’s exactly what happened to these unfortunate guys who were out riding Bariloche in Argentina.
They climbed on the chairlift on a seriously windy day and the whole seat derailed, falling to the ground. Now you can understand why they shut the lifts in Europe when it starts blowing a hooley!
Mati Bottaro caught this footage on his headcam a year ago, but only published the video today. Why? This is what he said on his Facebook page…
“At that time, staff of the company that has the concession of the hill Alta Patagonia, and even the owner came to us after they saw the video and promised not to operate the lifts until they had made the necessary modifications so this does not happen again.
The problem is that this did not happen and that is the real reason for the complaint. Now a year on, it’s still operated in the same way and last week there was another accident…”
