Avalanche Sharks – how our sports and movies combine

Sharks in the snow, sand and now in avalanches?? When will it end?? We hope NEVER!

When it comes to sharks, where do we start? They’re both loved and hated by people all over the world but it seems that people are starting to love them more and more – especially people within the SyFy channel (or people that like to make films in general). Because this ‘love’ is growing more it filters into our TV and rears its head in the form of some of the worst (read best) movies you’ll ever lay eyes on.

Ridiculously, these movies actually relate to us because they appear in the snow or in the surf. It might seem like a tenuous link to you but if they’re making movies about them then we’re going to tell you about them.

Trust us, it’s a good laugh.

Avalanche Sharks

I guess we can only really start with the latest movie release, Avalanche Shark. Maybe they were inspired by our article about how dangerous avalanches can be and decided to throw sharks into the mix. Because, you know, sharks only make things better.

Sand Sharks

It seems like they might have also taken some inspiration from Sand Sharks. In case you didn’t know, which clearly you already do, it stars none other than Brooke Hogan. Yes, the daughter of famous wrestler Hulk Hogan. He must be so proud.

Snow Shark

Next up is the incredibly well made… ahem… Snow Shark: Ancient Snow Beast. Unlike Avalanche Sharks, the story line is just impeccable. 3 animal scientist awake a beast in the snow which then kills people. That’s pretty much it but no words can describe how ‘good’ the acting is.

Deep Blue Sea

Don’t think that it’s just the SyFy channel cashing in on these movies! Hollywood did it as well with Deep Blue Sea. I won’t bore you with the details of the dull movie but if you fancy watching Samuel L Jackson die by shark attack, then skip to 2:36.

Of course these are all films (not including Deep Blue Sea) that have been inspired by Sharknado. We like to think so anyway! We’re just wondering what new films are going to come out that include our sports. There’s already been the overly-popular ‘Frozen’.

What do you think should be made next? The Lizard Chalet Girl? Let us know in the comments.
