Wakeboarding parks are growing quicker than ever in the UK with more parks popping up across the country all the time. No matter where you live in the UK – whether you want to go wakeboarding in London, Manchester, Sheffield or beyond – there is wakeboarding park not too far away.

What Is Wakeboarding? Everything You Need To Know

For those who don’t know, a wakeboarding park is a cable operated system where the wakeboarder is pulled across the water through a series of obstacles. It’s like the wakeboarding equivalent to a snow park in snowboarding or skate park. You can learn to stomp wakeboarding tricks here and learn the basics of competitive wakeboarding.

BLACKPOOL WAKEPARK

Blackpool Wakepark is home to the first System 2.0 wake park in the UK from the world-renowned wakeboard cable creators Seistec. It’s a straight-line cable system with a whole range of features including various kickers, boxes, A-frame rails and more for beginners right up to advanced competitors.

CLUB WAKE PARK

Club Wake Park in Northamptonshire is home to a straight-line two tower cable wakeboarding park called the WakeStation. It’s a great place for beginners to learn because you can receive constant tuition while lapping the park. Obstacles include a double-ended spine kicker and a quarter pipe.

FOXLAKE ADVENTURES

Foxlake Adventures is home to Scotland’s first cable wakeboard park. Located in Dunbar, it’s popular with local wakeboarders who’ve gone on to become national champs – they hold plenty of competitions here for up-and-coming rippers. Their cable park has features including two rooftops, four kickers and a funbox.

GLASFRYN PARC ACTIVITY CENTRE

Tucked away in North Wales, Glasfryn Parc Activity Centre is home to the best wake park in Wales. Glasfryn Wake Parc has two lakes with three System 2.0 cables with one dedicated entirely to beginners. Over on the advanced lake, you’ll find obstacles such as a big air kicker, transfer box, slug rail and two wall rides. This year they hosted the first International Water Ski and Wakeboard (IWWF) 4* World Tour Stop in Great Britain.

Wakeboarding Beginners: What Essential Wakeboarding Gear Do I Need?

INDUSTRY 1

Industry 1 is home to Liverpool’s number one wakeboarding park. Designed by Industry Wake Parks, they have some of the most progressive features in Europe.

There are two parks – the South Park is created for beginners to intermediate with small kickers and boxes to get you comfortable in the air. The North Park is for intermediate to pro riders, home to the famous Red Bull Harbour Reach event, including a transfer box, incline and rooftop rail.

JBSKI

JBSki has a full size, four tower cable system. The main cable has some of the biggest and best kickers and rails in the UK from beginners ramps to advanced boxes and rails. They are constantly changing up the park to keep things fresh. You need to complete an internal course at JBSki before you hit the wake park – it takes just half an hour – and helps keep you safe on the course.

JUSTWAKE

JustWake in Tattershall Lakes Country Park, Lincolnshire is without a doubt one of the best wakeboarding parks in the UK. Cable Park A is their advanced park suitable for experienced wake park riders. It includes a Red Bull quarter pipe, 96ft long funbox and two large kickers ready for grabs, spins and inverts. Cable B is the beginner wake park with a mini kicker, box, wedge, skate pad and more.

LIQUID LEISURE

Just outside London, you’ll find Liquid Leisure, home to one of the best wake parks in the south-east. Their large cable wake park has 19 obstacles including various size kickers, boxes, rails, a mega pool gap, a quarter pipe and more. There’s something for everyone.

NEW FOREST WATER PARK

New Forest Water Park has a rad wakeboarding park with two cable systems – a straight-line System 2.0 and a five corner cable system. The System 2.0 straight cable line is the best one for beginners to start on. You can receive constant instruction from one of the coaches.

The five corner system is for more experienced riders. It caters for six people at a time, so you shouldn’t be waiting in the queue too long. Features include two kickers, funbox, butterbox and an awesome elephant obstacle.

SHEFFIELD CABLE WATERSKI

Sheffield Cable Waterski has the biggest wakeboarding park in the north of England. It’s aimed at intermediates and advanced riders with features including a pipe rail, wallride, butterbox, elephant and new diamond peak rail. Each month they run a competition series called the Ten Feet High Series. Anyone can enter from rookies right up to pro level.

WMSKI

WMSki in Shorncote, Cotwolds is a super popular wakeboarding park for beginners right up to advanced riders. It’s a straight-line System 2.0 cable with rails, boxes and kickers for perfecting those 360s.

They are currently waiting for planning permission for the UK’s first six corner cable park with a whole new range of obstacles. If you live locally, make sure you check out their Ladies Morning every Thursday during the summer for one-to-one coaching.
